Correct Trowel Technique
- Key it in: Use the flat side of the trowel to press a thin layer of mortar into the substrate.
- Comb straight lines: Add more mortar and comb through it with the notched side held at a 45-degree angle. Avoid swirling motions.
- Set the tile: Press the tile down and slide it slightly perpendicular to the ridges to collapse them and remove air pockets.
